Welcome to Colour: Design & Creativity, the online journal from the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) for the professional and academic colour and design community. The journal aims to fill a perceived gap in the field of colour practice and education; one where professional people, from a diverse range of disciplines in which colour plays an important role, can come together to exchange knowledge and ideas, and perhaps begin to develop a common language to facilitate communication in the fascinating world of colour.
A searchable ‘at a glance’ listing of the full journal content is available to download as a PDF document (see the blue panel on the left). This includes all the material that has been accepted for publication and is currently in production, along with the entire catalogue of published content with direct links to the online articles. The journal follows an ‘open issue’ publishing model (implemented in September 2009), which is beneficial to both authors and readers as content is made available online ahead of the full issue being compiled. The next issue to be published will be issue 6 and this issue will open in due course (date to be confirmed).
Latest Issue
The latest issue (issue 5) is a special issue published in association with the International Colour Association (AIC) and includes content based on papers presented at the AIC Colour Congress 2009 in Sydney, Australia by Nick Harkness (guest editor). To view this issue, please click here. With total of 15+ papers, all pre-selected by the special issue committee, led by the guest editor Nick Harkness.
